The last few months have been a blur for me. So many things have been happening with my kids and family. I thoroughly enjoy all of it but I am exhausted. Keith and I have come to Pismo Beach for a few days to finish off our 2 week vacation.
Farmer's Market Trip |
We are doing a lot of relaxing because we are just pooped! Yesterday I started feeling a cold coming on so I really and trying to lay low. This morning Keith went out to go on a run. I told him that I was too "under the weather" to run so I was just going to walk a little while. I got all my running gear on and headed out the door. Before you knew it, I ran 4 miles and walked 2, doing a total of 6 miles. It's really amazing how fast your mind can turn on you. As I started to run, even "under the weather", it felt sooo good! I had time to think. I realized that it's been about 2 weeks of any planned exercise (running, elliptical, or bike riding). When you get out of your routine, it is so EASY to continue to put it off. I was feeling down from feeling sick but also I think from my lack of exercise and the good happy feeling comes along with it. It was a TOTAL reminder of how important EXERCISE is for me and how it helps me mentally, emotionally, and physically. The moral of this part of the story is to never quit exercising and if you don't already, find a way to exercise. It will really help you emotionally and physically. JUST DO IT! I promise you will see results.
So back to what I have been up to since probably back in April. Christopher has been back to his Mountain Bike racing. We've been to Sea Otter in Monterey, CA,
Felt was handing out these flyer's. Check out the rider! |
The Whiskey 50 in Prescott, Arizona,
The US CUP 50 mile Endurance race in Big Bear.
We've had a few short RV trips to Pismo Beach, which we thoroughly love to go.
We went to our friend Lisa and Darren's wedding reception which was beautiful and fun. We especially enjoyed seeing some old and new friends.
I was lucky enough to get to have breakfast on Mother's Day with my mom.
We were heading down for the day in Escondido to see the opening stage of the Tour of California.
A couple of my sisters and their families were able to meet for breakfast so it was a perfect day!
A week before school got out, my friend Sandra and I treated ourselves to a Spa Day at the Glen Ivy Spa in Corona. I have to admit, I had never been to a spa before or have ever experienced any sort of spa treatment ever in my life with the exception of a manicure or pedicure. This was a huge step for me. We had so much fun and it felt so good to be able to get in a bathing suit and be comfortable with myself. I have been planning to do this for a while as a treat for myself and I finally got to experience it! It was a wonderful day and hope to go back soon.
All while this was going on, Carissa was on her way with all her Senior Activities which included finishing up track,

There were all kinds of emotions going in my head and are actually still going on in my head. I am so proud of her, She had a great Senior year while accomplishing so much. She will be going to Cal Poly Pomona in the Fall. I think she will love it there with a bunch of "new" experiences to encounter.
Things in my life are busy, hectic, and crazy but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. While life has been full of activities, I have been holding "IT" together.
